Possibilities
The program determines the deformations and the force distribution among node- and/or beam loads or prescribed displacements for a 3D beam construction with chosen stiffness.
-
The force distribution is determined according to the displacement method, at which the normal- and shear force deformations are taken into account.
-
It is possible to choose for a linear force distribution (first order) or a geometric-non-linear force distribution. (second order)
-
There are many supports available. Obviously the well known and standard pinned support, roller support and the fixed support.
-
In XFEM4U you can compose any support. Spring in x-direction and fixed in z-direction, or moment fixed and free in x-direction, and so on. Also supports which can end up as a free support can be inserted. For example a support with a positive response force only. When a negative response force occurs, the restrain is released and the support is free. New in this version is the possibility to use a local coordinate system, by this every support can be set among an arbitrary angle.
-
Beams can be spring connected to nodes (i.e. by strain- and/or rotation springs).
-
Dependent on the chosen run-option in a certain load combination, the extreme moments and deformations, or all the characteristics ( shear force, moment, angle rotation and deformation) can be calculated per beam
-
At a geometric-non-linear force distribution (second order) it is possible to perform a steel check according to Eurocode 3: EN 1993-1-1.
-
In the new version (4.01) it is possible to enter all moment fixed steel joints as well. In the analysis of the loads, the dependent rigidity of each connected joint are taken into account. See Joints
