Earthquake settings

Location and the Design NPR 9998:2018 parameters can be determined with NEN NPR 9998 web tool.

Type of construction

Choice from Existing construction/Renovation/New construction. Together with the consequence class, this determines the importance factor according to table 2.4 of NPR 9998+c1:2020

Behavior factor q

Factor used for design and calculation purposes to reduce the forces in a linear calculation, to account for the non-linear behavior of a structure, related to the material, the structural system and the design procedures.

A higher value means more reduction and thus a lower load due to earthquake.
