Limitations

In fact, there are no limitations. For analysis, almost all memory is allocated dynamically. So (virtually) no constraints (array dimensions). Except for your computer. However, the size of the stiffness matrix and then in particular the "bandwidth" do determine the limit. How large that bandwidth becomes also depends on the model itself. If it is a model where the end is fixed to the beginning, then the bandwidth can be large.
