Match Properties
Function
This function is used to transfer the attributes and assignments of a "source" element to one or more "target" elements.
Purpose
To ensure consistency across the model and speed up the assignment process. Instead of manually re-entering data for each member, this tool allows users to quickly synchronize sections, materials, and local orientations across different parts of the structure, reducing the risk of data entry discrepancies.
Operation
The user first selects the "source" element that contains the desired attributes. Upon activating the Match Properties command, the cursor becomes active for target selection; the user then clicks on the "target" element(s) to which the properties should be applied. The software immediately updates the target elements to match the configuration of the original source.
