Multiple Copies
Function
This function is used to create several identical duplicates of selected model elements simultaneously along a linear path or a defined grid.
Purpose
To automate the generation of repetitive structural systems, such as a series of identical floor levels in a high-rise building or a sequence of parallel portal frames. This tool eliminates the need for individual copy operations, ensuring that the spacing and alignment between all duplicated segments remain perfectly uniform.
Operation
The user begins by selecting the target model elements and defining the translation vector by picking a base point followed by a second point to establish the direction. This action opens the Creating Multiple Copies (Linear Arrays) dialog box, where the displacement values (dx, dy, dz) are automatically captured or can be manually adjusted. The user then specifies the "Number of copies" to be generated and, if necessary, toggles the "Divide" option to distribute the copies evenly within the selected range before confirming with "OK."
