Merge Beam

Function

This function combines two or more collinear beam elements that share a common node into a single, continuous beam element.

Purpose

To simplify the structural model by removing unnecessary internal nodes and merging segmented beams into a unified member. This reduces model complexity, improves analysis efficiency, and ensures accurate representation of continuous structural behavior.

Operation

First, select the adjacent beam segments to be merged. The command automatically removes the shared internal node and creates a single beam element spanning the combined length.
